The Apache Canyon Trail is a 1 mile trail that runs from a junction with the Glorieta Baldy Trail – Trail #175 to Forest Road 79M.
Trail Condition: Excellent
Trail Conditions remain in the same excellent condition
From the signed junction with Glorieta Baldy Trail – Trail #175, the Apache Canyon Trail leaves the wooded area and returns to the meadow, briefly following Apache Creek upstream.
Immediately cross the stream and look for the cairned trail that leaves the valley bottom and begins to climb. The first 1/4 mile of the trail are quite steep as it climbs out of the canyon. Be mindful of the switchbacks, but otherwise, it is easy to follow.
Once atop the ridge, the trail is straight forward, easy to follow and relatively flat until it ends at the signed junction with Forest Road 79M. This section of trail is accessible to ATVs so don’t be surprised if you come across a motorist, but in general it sees little traffic.
